Get Ready for Curbing

We look forward to working with you! Here are a few important steps to prepare for your curbing/border installation:

Final Grade Preparation:

  • New landscapes: ensure your landscape is at the final grade with all topsoil placed and leveled, ready for sod or seed. For existing landscapes, complete any necessary grade changes.

Sod Delivery (Existing Landscapes):

  • Schedule sod delivery for no sooner than the day after installation, ideally 3 days after.

Pet Waste Removal:

  • Remove all pet waste from your yard the evening before or the morning of installation.

Utilities

Customer Requirements During Installation:

  • Access to a waterspout

  • A dumpster

  • A place or receptacle for the sod that is cut.

Sprinkler Head Location:

  • Identify and mark sprinkler heads in existing landscapes the night before installation to prevent damage. For new landscapes, have sprinkler lines (with 6" of extra pipe) and drip system lines placed and accessible.

Lawn Mowing (Existing Landscapes):

  • Mow your lawn 1-3 days before installation. Avoid mowing for a week after installation and do not use a weed eater near the new curbing for at least two weeks.

Watering

  • Do not water your lawn the night before or the morning of the installation.

Access

  • Ensure clear access to your yard. If we are working in the backyard, a standard man gate is required.

What to Expect

Your existing grass will not be affected by our equipment. The grass within the area where the curb is installed will be trenched to accommodate the new curbing. Outside of this area, your grass will remain undisturbed.

We use an electric wheelbarrow with large turf tires to transport the concrete, ensuring minimal impact on your lawn.

The curbing is extruded through one of our custom-manufactured curb machines. The concrete is mixed on-site using a specialized trailer and mortar mixer.

Notice Regarding Drains: We will determine when and where to install drains. This is not optional. We do not want standing water entering basements or a crawl space of a home.

Please note that there may be small residual materials near the curb or in the grass, which can be easily cleaned up.
